There are many people asking me to write a guide on Runescape fishing. So, in this quick article, I will explain how to increase your Runescape fishing skills. To start with, I will share some basic fundamentals of Runescape fishing.
Fishing in Runescape is really very easy! To start, you just need to get some equipment. If you have done real life fishing, either with your parents or your friends, it works exactly the same. If not, you just need to use a bit of your intelligences, and you will increase your Runescape fishing levels in no time.
For a start, there are fishing net available from Tutorial Island. If you need other fishing equipments, then you would need to buy from the fishing stores.
My personal favourites Runescape fishing stores are in Port Sarim and Catherby.
Just like in real life, you cannot never fish sharks at a lake. So, to catch some specific kinds of fishes, you would need to go to that specific fishing spot.
Below is a list of what kinds of fishing equipments
will allow you to catch what kinds of fishes.
» Nets: Shrimp, Anchovies, Karambwanji, Giant Frogspawn and Monkfish
» Rod & Bait: Sardine, Herring, Pike, Slimey Eel and Cave Eel
» Big Net: Mackerel, Cod and Bass
» Fly-fishing rod & Feathers: Trout and Salmon (just like real life)
» Harpoon: Tuna, Swordfish and Shark
» Lobster Cage: Lobsters
» Oily-Fishing Rod & Bait: Lava Eel
» Karambwan Vessel: Karambwan
As this is a Runescape fishing tip, I will let you know more on how to increase your Runescape fishing levels.
You can sell your fish raw or cooked. Cooking the fish will take a bit more of your time, however, you can sell more gp too.
If your focus is to increase your fishing levels, focus on that first. Selling for huge profits or not is secondary. Remember the focus lessons I mention about.
As you move through the levels of fishing, you will be able to fish for a wide array of fish.
I will now name all of the fish, what level you need to fish for them, and how many experience points (exp) you get per fish.

» Karambwanji: Level: 5 Exp: 10
» Sardine: Level: 5 Exp: 20
» Herring: Level: 10 Exp: 30
» Anchovies: Level: 15 Exp: 40
» Mackerel: Level: 16 Exp: 20
» Trout: Level: 20 Exp: 50
» Cod: Level: 23 Exp: 45
» Pike: Level: 25 Exp: 60
» Slimey Eel: Level: 28 Exp: 65
» Salmon: Level: 30 Exp: 70
» Giant Frogspawn: Level: 33 Exp: 75
» Tuna: Level: 35 Exp: 80
» Cave Eel: Level: 38 Exp: 80
» Rainbow Fish: Level: 38 Exp: 80
» Lobster: Level: 40 Exp: 90
» Bass: Level: 46 Exp: 100
» Swordfish: Level: 50 Exp: 100
» Lava Eel: Level: 53 Exp: 60
» Monkfish: Level: 62 Exp: 120
» Karambwan: Level: 65 Exp105

Hey guys you must know that he sells runescape guides so if he exposes the secrets he wouldn’t earn a cent so stop begging for tips seriously. To be honest, I think this isn’t really a guide too but if he exposes the real guide then people wouldnt buy his guide. Anyway I’m buying it so I’ll be reading the real secret

Thanks, i don’t play rs anymore but when i did fishing helped a lot of money, woodcutting too but that takes a long time. The cape is all worth it though (:

awesome guide:) but if got a question, if got 72 fishing on my runescape account and i wanted to know if i should fih monkfish till 99 or step over on another fish when i’m higher? because monkfish gives the highest xp each fish

If your In the Mid levels for fishing, and your getting a little bored. Stealing Creation is great. I provides a bordom killer, and you can spend your points on sacred clay harpoons. =], at my fishing level, I am using a combonation of the Sacred clay harpoon (reqs 40fish) and swordfish gloves (reqs 65 fishing). this is great exp! hope this helps.

Guys that want a woodcutting guide!!! Its pretty dum to ask for one.. From 30-99 just woocut willows there amazingly fast exp.if you want money try magics and yews alot slower but profits are amazing!very good guide though

heres 1 for woodcutting just cut any tree until lvl 60 then cut yews till lvl 68 then theres new crazy xp ivy cut that around 338xp for 1 ivy!!!!

well this is good but there are two things to know fishing has two new fish what you need to be eather 85 or 90 to fish… this is lame as i am like 80 but oh well oh btw people that are mebers my advice if you are lvl 70 in attack str or def try attacking the lvl 140 living rock thay give you over 1k exp every time you kill one the lvl 120 give you 909 exp atm good hutting! peace out!

monk fish are basicly the one that have the most exp and u dont need to have a high skills to fish that 120exp but u wont get much cash.
